the Jason R. Chin Action Figure

I coached the ImprovOlympic team, Deep Schwa, for more than three years. They were the first team I coached and we had so many good times. We decided to stick with doing the Harold hard and good. And we did. I had so much fun with them, but there really wasn't anything more I could do with or for Deep Schwa. In early 2000, I quit coaching all improv teams in order to devote more time to other pursuits. Do I miss it? Hell, yeah. I loved coaching and Deep Schwa was a crazy-fun team.

Anyway, they took me out for dinner as a "thank you" and then they presented me with a watch. No, an action figure actually. I'll tell you the truth; when they handed me the wrapped figure my inner thoughts were "oh, this will be disappointing." Only because, as many of my fellow geeks out there will understand, it's difficult to buy someone an action figure that a) they don't already have, and b) they will really want. So I was apprehensive. As I tore open the wrapping, I was shocked to find a Jason Chin action figure!

Of course, the action figure was just one figure available from the Deep Schwa line of toys.
This is a front view of the action figure. As you may have noticed, my hair was, uhm, blonde at the time. It was spikey as well. The background behind the figure is, of course, the same as the ImprovOlympic Harold stage at the time.
The back of the package is filled with just tons of little jokes and descriptions. That's Chris Day kneeling before Zod there.
I like that there's a Dinner for Six playset available. That'd be fun, actually. "Toy does not speak or heighten scenes." Neither do I actually.
I lost the graphic for the photo here... The thought balloon reads "How can I best serve the fame of this scene?" Do I look fat? I think I look fat.
My favorite part of the whole thing... the side view of the package. I think I kinda look like a minister- which I am of course.
... and there's the front again. Can you read everything? I can't tell from here. Anyway, I love this gift. As I repost these shots I send out thanks again to Deep Schwa and master graphic designer Dave Gilley. Yay for toys!
